Originally developed for the aviation industry, AeroShell 22 is a synthetic hydrocarbon grease that uses hectorite clay as a thickening agent. In addition to its uses on air frames, AS22 is praised and used by the professional safe servicing world. Fortified against oxidation and an excellent corrosion inhibitor, this lubricant has excellent anti-wear properties, plus a very wide useful temperature range ( -65°C to +204°C)
Although AS22 is formulated as a lubricant for aircraft, testing of over 180,000 continuous opening cycles on a combination lock without a single problem has proven it to be an excellent lubricant for mechanical combination locks.
